Welcome Back to Coastal Flow Creative: A Studio Reawakening
Share
Hey there, friend.
It’s been a minute!
If you’ve followed Coastal Flow Creative for a while, you know this little studio of mine has always been more than just a workspace. It’s been a refuge, a spark, a sometimes chaotic mess of color and glass and ideas. But also, at times, it’s been quiet—not because the creativity wasn’t there, but because life was full. Work. Responsibilities. The mental load of “doing it all.” Sound familiar?
For a while, I kept the studio mostly to myself. I wasn’t sure I wanted to share. Not because I didn’t love teaching or creating with others—but because something in me needed to reconnect with my own creative spark first.
Truth? I hesitated. I worried I wasn’t making “enough” to share. That my work wasn’t polished, prolific, or public-ready. I thought I needed to have it all figured out before I invited anyone in.
But the thing I’ve learned (again and again) is this: creativity doesn’t wait for perfect. It waits for presence. And presence, well… sometimes we have to fight for it. Especially when we’re working jobs, caring for others, and trying to carve out even a sliver of time for ourselves.
This season feels different.
I'm opening the doors wide again—not just to sell my art or teach a class—but to create a space for real connection. For quiet exploration. For creative play, even if it’s messy. Especially if it’s messy.
At Coastal Flow Creative, you’ll find:
- In-person fused glass classes (no experience needed, just curiosity and close-toed shoes :) )
- A gallery shop featuring my own west coast–inspired glass, functional art, and collaborations with other artists I admire
- A growing collection of online offerings for those of you who can’t make it to the island but still want to create
- And maybe, just maybe, a nice chai latte, some good 80's music, and space to breathe while the kiln works its magic
I’m still honoring my own work—saying yes to the ideas that light me up, giving my hands permission to make what they want to make. But I’m also remembering the joy of making with others. Of building community through shared creativity. Of witnessing someone fall back in love with their own spark.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to come play, to make time for yourself, to create without pressure—this is it.
Thanks for being here. Let’s make something beautiful.
See you in the studio,
Michelle
