Weaving in the Round bring a new perspective to your woven creations. All different kinds of materials, fibres and other objects can be used to create your very own one-of-a-kind textile artwork!
This workshop is for beginners but will also be great fun for someone who's tried their hand at weaving before.
We will walk through warping up a circular loom using a basic embroidery frame.
You'll be taught several different weaving techniques that create different textural effects including tabby, rya and soumak.
Cost: $75 per person
Time: Saturday afternoon 1:00 - 4:00pm on the date you register for
Location: Coastal Flow Creative Studio 4632 Elizabeth Street in Port Alberni B.C.
What You’ll Get: Embroidery hoop, yarn needles, lots of different yarn, fibres and other goodies to add to your weave, tea, coffee and light refreshments.
What to Bring: All materials will be provided but you’re more than welcome to bring along anything you might like to include in your piece.
