The Coastal Flow Manifesto
(West Coast Vibes = No Rush. No Apologies.)
This is a working studio on the west coast.
Which means things happen slowly here — on purpose.
Ideas arrive while wandering beaches, treasure hunting through antique shops, and driving winding roads with the wind in my hair.
They get tested at the studio table, usually with a mug of chai nearby and the steady hum of ’80s vinyl on the turntable.
Nothing here is rushed.
Nothing here is made to chase trends or keep up appearances.
I follow what I love.
I pay attention to what’s useful.
And when something works, I share it — with my local community and with artists farther away who find their way here.
I Believe
Creativity is not a luxury.
It’s a way of living.
You don’t need permission to begin.
You don’t need to be polished.
You don’t need to be young, loud, or certain.
You can be starting over.
You can be returning after years away.
You can be fifty-five and choosing this life entirely on your own terms.
All of it belongs here.
What Happens Here
This is a place where glass is made thoughtfully and with intention — pieces meant to be lived with, not just looked at.
It’s where people gather to learn, experiment, and make things with their hands.
It’s where weekend workshops unfold slowly and retreats will soon invite deeper wandering.
It’s also where tools and molds are designed — not as products first, but as solutions to real studio questions.
And where teaching happens both in person and online, so distance never has to be the thing that stops someone from learning.
Everything here starts with curiosity and ends with connection.
How My Studio Feels
No judgement.
No hierarchy.
No hustle energy.
Questions are welcome.
Trying again is expected.
Perfection is not the goal.
This is a place to:
- follow a hunch
- make a mess
- take your time
- and create something that surprises you
The Magpie Spirit
I gather ideas the way some people gather treasures.
A colour from a beach walk.
A shape from a vintage find.
A feeling pulled from memory or music.
Some of those ideas turn into art.
Some turn into tools.
Some become classes, conversations, or shared moments around a studio table.
Nothing is wasted.
Everything has an afterlife.
Who This Studio Is For
This studio is for wanderers and makers.
For late bloomers and quiet creatives.
For people who want to learn without pressure and make without judgement.
You don’t have to fit in.
You don’t have to explain yourself.
You just have to show up.
The Promise
If it’s offered through this studio, it comes from lived experience — not theory.
If it’s taught here, it’s been tested here.
If it’s shared here, it’s shared with care.
This is Coastal Flow Creative.
A west coast studio.
A place to wander, make, learn, and belong — in person or from afar.
Chai optional.
Curiosity required.
